Who is responsible

YieldMaple is independently owned and edited by Alex Francisco, its founder and editor, from Ontario, Canada. Alex decides what is published and is accountable for every page. YieldMaple does not currently use outside reviewers; if that changes, each reviewer will be named on the pages they review, with their real credentials.

What we publish, and what we don't

• General education, not advice. We explain rules, products and trade-offs. We don't give personal financial, tax, legal or immigration advice, and we aren't licensed to. For immigration advice about your own case, use a lawyer or a licensed consultant registered with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.
• Calculators give estimates. Each calculator lists the rules and rates it uses, its assumptions, and the date those were last checked. A result is a planning estimate, not a quote or a decision.
• No invented experience. We don't claim to have opened, funded or tested a product unless the founder actually has, and the page says so explicitly.

How pages are researched

1. Official sources first. Government rules come from the Government of Canada (including the Canada Revenue Agency, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and Service Canada), provincial and municipal governments, Statistics Canada and CMHC. Product details come from the provider's own pages. We don't copy figures from other comparison sites.
2. Every figure is recorded with its evidence. Rates, fees, limits and rule tables live in dated data files that store the official page, the supporting wording where practical, the date the rule takes effect and the date we last checked it. Pages pull figures from those files instead of retyping them.
3. Unconfirmed figures aren't published as facts. If a figure can't be confirmed on the official source, the page says so and doesn't rely on it.

How pages are written and checked

We use software to help draft and check pages, including AI writing tools. Nothing is published on the strength of a draft alone: every figure must trace to the data files above, automated checks flag untraceable numbers, first-person claims and duplicated text, and pages are reviewed before they are published. Local pages (a city or a province) are published only when they contain verified local information that isn't repeated on other pages; pages that don't meet that bar stay unpublished.

How pages are kept current

Each rule has a review schedule matched to how often it changes: benefit amounts that change quarterly are checked every quarter, annual limits and tax brackets every year, and anything else when the government or provider announces a change. Every page shows when its figures were last verified. See the methodology for the full process.

How we make money

Some links are referral or affiliate links: we may earn a commission when you sign up through them, at no extra cost to you. Pages with those links say so above the first one. Commissions don't change the facts we publish about a product, and a product that pays us less, or nothing, can and does rank above one that pays us. Calculators never require an email address to show a result. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.

Privacy in our calculators

Calculator maths runs in your browser. YieldMaple doesn't receive or store what you type: your numbers never go into the page address, our analytics or any server. Analytics records only that a calculator was used, never the amounts or the result. If you choose "Save on this device", your inputs are kept in your own browser's storage and you can remove them at any time.

Corrections

If something we published is wrong, we fix it and record the change on our public corrections log. To report an error, email yieldmaple@gmail.com with the page address and the source; we aim to publish verified corrections within 1–3 business days.
