An OINP draw is a round in which the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) ranks the expressions of interest (EOIs) in its pool and invites the top-scoring candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Every figure on this page comes from official ontario.ca pages (the invitations page, the 2026 program updates, the stream page and the application-process page), plus IRCC for Express Entry rounds. The page tracks results and explains the scoring; it is not immigration advice, and the OINP e-Filing Portal is the only place that shows whether a specific EOI has been invited.
What was the latest OINP draw?
The latest OINP draws listed on ontario.ca were held on April 30, 2026. They were targeted at candidates with job offers in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in occupations listed in the announcement: 786 invitations in the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream for scores of 57 and above, and 277 in the International Student stream for scores of 81 and above. Candidates had to be living in Canada on a valid work or study permit.
Those were the last invitations under the old system. On June 25, 2026 Ontario removed its 8 former streams and closed the EOI system to new EOIs, and the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream opened for EOIs on August 4, 2026. The invitations page was last updated on August 11, 2026 and, as of October 11, 2026, lists no Workforce Priority draws. The timeline below shows where things stand.
How to read this table: the first Ontario Workforce Priority draw will be added here as soon as ontario.ca lists it.

The final week of draws under the former streams covered every region of Ontario plus the Masters and PhD streams. The table shows each round, newest first.
How to read this table: 'Lowest score invited' is the bottom of the score range Ontario published (for example, '57 and above'). Only EOIs created in the date window shown were eligible for that draw, and the regional and GTA draws were also limited to the occupations (NOC codes) listed in each announcement on the 2026 program updates page.

When is the next OINP draw?
Ontario has not announced it. It states on the invitations page that it gives no advance notice before it issues invitations, and the 2026 draws did not follow a fixed calendar. They came in bursts: February 2, February 18, March 18, March 25, then six draw days in April.
What is known is the order of events. The Workforce Priority EOI portal opened on August 4, 2026, so candidates have been able to register EOIs since then. Employers submit job offers first, candidates register EOIs within 30 days, and Ontario then ranks the pool. Under the former streams, each draw was posted on two ontario.ca pages: the invitations page (with the score range) and the 2026 program updates page (with the occupations and regions targeted). This page is re-checked against both and updated when a Workforce Priority draw is listed.
For context on pace, Ontario’s 2026 nomination allocation is 14,119, announced on February 6, 2026. In 2025 Ontario issued 10,750 nominations and reached its allocation on December 17, 2025. Nominations are not the same as invitations: some invited candidates never apply, and some applications are refused.
Which OINP streams are open in 2026?
Only one stream is open: the Ontario Workforce Priority stream. It covers foreign workers with a full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible Ontario employer in any TEER 0 to 5 occupation, plus self-employed physicians who can bill OHIP. The 8 former streams, including the Masters and PhD Graduate streams and all three Express Entry streams, closed on June 25, 2026. Applications already submitted after an invitation under a former stream are still assessed under the rules in effect when they were submitted.
How to read this table: 'closed' means Ontario no longer accepts EOIs or issues invitations under that stream.

How do OINP EOI scores work?
An OINP EOI score is the total of points Ontario assigns to the answers in an EOI, and draws invite the highest scores in the pool (or in a targeted slice of it). Under the Ontario Workforce Priority stream, the score is built from 11 factors published on the stream page. The job offer’s NOC TEER category, broad occupational category and hourly wage are filled in automatically from the job offer the employer submitted.
How to read this table: points are published by ontario.ca. Scoring factors are separate from the stream's eligibility criteria: a high score does not help if a minimum requirement, such as CLB 6 for most TEER 0 to 3 jobs, is not met.
| Group | Factor | Maximum points | Points by answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employment | NOC TEER category of the job offer | 9 | TEER 0 or 1: 9; TEER 2 or 3: 6; TEER 4 or 5: 0 |
| Employment | NOC broad occupational category | 10 | Category 3: 10; Category 7: 8; Category 2: 6; Categories 0, 1, 4, 8, 9: 4; Categories 5, 6: 2 |
| Employment | Hourly wage of the job offer | 15 | $40 per hour or higher: 15; $35 to $39.99: 12; $30 to $34.99: 10; $25 to $29.99: 8; $20 to $24.99: 5; less than $20: 0 (not used for self-employed physicians) |
| Employment | Ontario work experience | 18 | In the job offer position: over 24 months 18, 13 to 24 months 15, 6 to 12 months 12; if under 6 months in the position, Ontario work overall: over 24 months 12, 13 to 24 months 9, 6 to 12 months 6 |
| Employment | Canadian earnings history (a CRA Notice of Assessment from the last 5 years) | 10 | $80k or more in a year: 10; $70k to $79,999: 8; $50k to $69,999: 6; $30k to $49,999: 4; under $30k: 0 |
| Status | Legal status in Canada | 10 | Valid work permit: 10; valid study permit: 5; neither: 0 |

Adding the top option of each factor gives a maximum possible score of 132. Self-employed physicians do not get wage points, so their ceiling is 117. The earnings factor changed on October 5, 2026: $80,000 or more in a year now earns 10 points, $70,000 to $79,999 earns 8, and Ontario applied the change to existing EOIs automatically. Language points use the lowest of the four CLB scores, so one weak skill caps the whole factor; the IELTS to CLB conversion guide shows where a test result lands.
Where the job is located matters more than in most provincial programs. The regional factor alone moves a score by up to 15 points.
How to read this table: for a job offer, the region is the work location the employer entered. For a self-employed physician, it is the Ontario practice address on the OHIP billing registration.
| Region | EOI points | Census divisions included |
|---|---|---|
| Northern Ontario | 15 | Muskoka, Haliburton, Nipissing, Parry Sound, Manitoulin, Sudbury, Greater Sudbury, Timiskaming, Cochrane, Algoma, Thunder Bay, Rainy River, Kenora |
| Eastern Ontario | 10 | Frontenac, Hastings, Kawartha Lakes, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, Lennox and Addington, Northumberland, Ottawa, Peterborough, Prescott and Russell, Prince Edward, Renfrew, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry |
| Central Ontario outside the GTA | 10 | Dufferin, Grey, Simcoe, Waterloo, Wellington |
| Southwestern Ontario | 10 | Brant, Bruce, Chatham-Kent, Elgin, Essex, Haldimand-Norfolk, Hamilton, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, Niagara, Oxford, Perth |
| Inside the GTA, except Toronto | 5 | Regional municipalities of Durham, Halton, Peel and York |
| Toronto | 0 | City of Toronto |

Worked example: one candidate, four job locations
A hypothetical candidate has a job offer as a software developer (NOC 21232, TEER 1, broad category 2) paying $38 an hour, has worked in that job for 14 months on a work permit, earned $62,000 on the latest Notice of Assessment, holds one Canadian master’s degree and scored CLB 8 in English only.
From the grid: TEER 1 gives 9, category 2 gives 6, the wage band gives 12, 13 to 24 months in the position gives 15, the earnings band gives 6, the work permit gives 10, the master’s gives 8, one Canadian credential gives 5, CLB 8 gives 12 and one official language gives 5. That is 88 points before location. With the job in Brampton (Peel, inside the GTA) the score is 93; in the City of Toronto it stays at 88; in Ottawa it is 98; and in Sudbury it is 103. The OINP score calculator adds up these factors from a reader’s own answers, and the hourly to salary calculator converts an annual offer into the hourly wage the grid uses.
Other provinces score their pools differently. Saskatchewan, for example, ranks expressions of interest on its own points grid, set out in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) guide.
How do targeted and general OINP draws differ?
A general draw ranks every EOI in a stream’s pool; a targeted draw ranks only EOIs with a particular attribute, such as an occupation, a region or French ability, and invites the highest scorers in that group. Ontario’s application-process page describes both types. Nearly every 2026 draw was targeted, which is why cut-offs ranged so widely: the April 8 healthcare and early childhood education draw for the Foreign Worker stream went down to 20, while the March 25 GTA draw for the International Student stream stopped at 90.
The regional draws show the pattern clearly. The table compares the two rounds of regional draws held in spring 2026.
How to read this table: scores are from the ontario.ca invitations table and the former streams' grids, which differ from the Workforce Priority grid. For the April 23 Central Ontario International Student draw, the program updates page gives 85 instead of 84. Treat these as a sign of competition by region, not as a target for a new EOI.
| Job offer region | Foreign Worker, March 25 | Foreign Worker, April | International Student, March 25 | International Student, April | April draw date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Greater Toronto Area (GTA) | 61 | 57 | 90 | 81 | April 30, 2026 |
| Eastern Ontario | 57 | 63 | 83 | 87 | April 23, 2026 |
| Northern Ontario | 54 | 60 | 80 | 87 | April 23, 2026 |
| Southwestern Ontario | 53 | 60 | 81 | 84 | April 23, 2026 |
| Central Ontario (excluding GTA) | 55 | 60 | 82 | 84 | April 23, 2026 |

Outside the GTA, April cut-offs were higher than in March in every region and both streams, while the GTA cut-offs fell. Draw size alone does not explain it: the April regional draws were also bigger than the March ones, yet their cut-offs rose. A cut-off depends on how many high-scoring EOIs sit in the targeted slice of the pool on draw day, and the eligible occupation lists could change from one draw to the next. Ontario does not publish the score spread of its pool, so past cut-offs cannot predict the next one.
All OINP draws in 2026 before the April 22 round
These are the remaining 2026 rounds from the ontario.ca invitations page, newest first. Together with the April 22 to 30 table above, they make up all 55 rows of the 2026 invitations table. One April 15 group is missing from that table (see the caution further down).
How to read this table: REDI draws were for job offers in Lanark or Leeds and Grenville under the Regional Economic Development through Immigration pilot.

How many OINP invitations were issued in 2025 and 2026?
For 2026, before the redesign, the ontario.ca invitations table lists 13,278 invitations: 4,905 in the Foreign Worker stream, 4,427 in the International Student stream, 1,921 in the In-Demand Skills stream, 1,256 in the Masters Graduate stream and 769 in the PhD Graduate stream. For 2025, ontario.ca publishes totals for the three Employer Job Offer streams.
How to read this table: totals as published on the ontario.ca invitations page. Ontario did not publish a 2025 total for the Masters, PhD or Express Entry streams on that page.
| Stream | Invitations in 2025 |
|---|---|
| Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker | 4,860 |
| Employer Job Offer: International Student | 6,605 |
| Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills | 1,063 |

One caution on the 2026 figures: the program updates page and the invitations table do not always agree. The biggest gap is April 15, when the program updates page reports a larger In-Demand Skills draw that included an agriculture-related group with no row in the table. Two April 23 regional draws also have different invitation totals, and two April 23 cut-offs differ by one point. The tables on this page follow the invitations table row by row, so the 2026 totals above are what that table lists, not a complete count.
How to read this table: both figures are as published on ontario.ca. Ontario has not explained the differences.
| Date | Draw | Program updates page | Invitations table | What differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| April 15, 2026 | In-Demand Skills: agriculture-related and other priority occupations | 1,334 | 1,024 | The table has one row (other priority occupations, 36 and above). The agriculture-related group invited at 35 and above has no row. |
| April 23, 2026 | Southwestern Ontario (Foreign Worker, International Student, In-Demand Skills) | 886 | 797 | The three stream rows add up to 797. |
| April 23, 2026 | Northern Ontario (Foreign Worker, International Student, In-Demand Skills) | 303 | 303 | Same total. The updates page gives 35 and above for In-Demand Skills; the table gives 34 and above. |
| April 23, 2026 | Central Ontario excluding GTA (Foreign Worker, International Student, In-Demand Skills) | 428 | 463 | The three stream rows add up to 463. The updates page also gives 85 and above for International Student; the table gives 84 and above. |

What happens after an OINP invitation to apply?
An invitation starts two short clocks. The candidate and the employer both get an email, and the invitation shows up in the OINP e-Filing Portal with a new application file number (the old EOI number is greyed out, which is normal).
How to read this table: all deadlines are in calendar days, not business days. Missing an invitation deadline removes the EOI from the pool, and a new EOI needs a new job offer from the employer.
| Step | Deadline |
|---|---|
| Register an EOI after the employer submits the job offer | Within 30 calendar days, or the job offer expires |
| EOI waits in the selection pool | Valid for 12 months, then removed automatically |
| Employer applies for approval of the employment position after an invitation | Within 14 calendar days of the invitation |
| Candidate submits the application and pays the fee | Within 17 calendar days of the invitation |
| Accept an Express Entry nomination in the IRCC account (if chosen) | Within 30 calendar days |

The Workforce Priority application fee is $1,500 for a job offer outside the GTA and $2,000 inside it, paid with the application. Candidates who asked for an Express Entry nomination (TEER 0 to 3 job offers and self-employed physicians) must keep a valid federal profile the whole time. Once Ontario enters the nomination, IRCC’s Provincial Nominee Program rounds pick it up; the most recent one listed when this page was checked, on September 28, 2026, invited 733 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 725. Those rounds are tracked on the Express Entry draws page, and the CRS calculator shows a profile’s score with and without the nomination points. The federal fees that follow a nomination are covered in the Canada PR fees guide.
If a candidate thinks an invitation was missed, the first stop is the OINP e-Filing Portal. Ontario asks candidates not to contact the program after registering an EOI; for problems with an application, the OINP webform and phone line are listed on ontario.ca.
What mistakes cost candidates an OINP invitation?
- Registering an EOI without meeting the stream criteria. Ontario refuses the application and keeps the fee. Scoring factors and eligibility are separate lists; both have to be met.
- Claiming points that cannot be documented. Every point in the EOI has to be backed up after an invitation. Inaccurate claims can lead to refusal, penalties or prosecution.
- Letting the 30-day EOI window lapse. If the EOI is not registered within 30 days of the employer’s job offer, the employer has to submit a new job offer.
- Counting on old cut-offs. Former-stream scores do not carry over to the Workforce Priority grid.
- Missing the 14-day or 17-day deadline. Ontario says an invited EOI that misses the candidate’s deadline cannot be reinstated, and starting over needs a new job offer.
- Letting a work permit lapse while waiting. Legal status is worth 10 points, and the 2026 regional and GTA draws only invited candidates living in Canada on a valid work or study permit. Graduates relying on a post-graduation work permit can check timing in the PGWP guide.
- Using a self-appointed representative. Ontario treats applications submitted by self-appointed representatives as invalid and withdraws them.
For a province-by-province comparison of nominee programs, see the Provincial Nominee Program guide by province. Many OINP candidates already work in Ontario on an employer-specific work permit, and the LMIA guide explains how those permits are approved.
